Digital Photography
This group is no longer running. If you can help restart it please contact the groups co-ordinator. About the GroupEvery family has at least one digital camera, many have more than one, BUT are they being used to their full potential? Are the photographs bring produced what was in mind at the time of taking? Do you wish that your pictures had a little more impact? It doesn’t matter whether you have the simplest point and shoot camera or the top of the range all-singing and dancing camera, there is always the possibility of making your pictures a little better, a little out of the ordinary and to have that WOW! factor which will make people enjoy looking at them even more. This Group is for YOU. We aim to help everyone, from the person just starting to use a digital camera to the much more experienced user, learn a little more about the camera controls and menus, and thereby to enjoy taking pictures which really please. We recognise that digital camera menus are complicated and, sometimes, confusing, so we try to take the sting out of them by sorting out the essential parts from those which you maybe use only once to initially set up the camera, and to demystify the menus and explain them in simple terms. The Group is primarily about using the digital camera to produce pleasing and satisfying pictures, after all, the camera is just the tool and it is the eye behind the camera which actually sees and makes the picture. Every month we have a session looking at the basics of camera operation and composition, followed by a session looking at and discussing Group members’ pictures from the previous month’s theme and then, usually we have a show of images from exhibitions. We plan to visit Bunny Woods to photograph the bluebells as soon as they are in flower and other excursions are in mind. Everyone is welcome, do come and join us.
