Active Citizenship in an Ageing Society

Nottingham Trent University are exploring the possibility of developing a University – level course in the Social Sciences, specifically for older people,  building on successful examples of such courses elsewhere in Europe. The course is being designed for people aged 55 – 75.  To help with the planning they want people to complete questionnaires and participate in focus groups.  Details in this leaflet.

Newstead Abbey

Enjoy the splendour of historic Newstead Abbey as it’s transformed in traditional festive style. Visit the Cloisters and Orangery Craft Fair and choose your Christmas tree and plants from our Courtyard (FREE entry). Treat yourself to a glass of warm mulled wine and mince pies – or a Special Christmas Afternoon Tea (pre-booking required). Bring the children to visit Santa in his Grotto.

Parking and entry to the Park and Craft Fair is FREE with a small charge applied for admission into the house and tour of the Abbey of £5 adult, £1 child and for some of the other activities.

Wollaton Hall

Meet the Lord of Misrule at our Tudor Christmas! Taste delicious fayre at our food festival and enjoy a glass of warm mead. Visit the Craft Fair in the Hall to buy your Christmas gifts.
