News - 2016 Archive14 Dec 2016The Wine Tasting Programme for 2017 is now on the Wine Tasting webpage. Doug Miles.08 Dec 2016The next monthly meeting of the Photography Group is on Tuesday, 13th December 2016 starting at 2.30 pm in the Methodist Church Hall.
Anyone is welcome to join us. Our monthly charge is £2 which
covers the room cost with a little extra for ‘specials’. We have already started to look at our outings for 2017 with
visits to such places as Felley Priory and Whatton Gardens for the spring
flowers. Our outings are by car-share. The last one we did was to Watermead at
Leicester, a place we have all driven by many times but most never visited! We
were blessed with good photographic weather and enjoyed the afternoon. Howard Fisher 31 Oct 2016Autumn Coffee Morning This was held in the Keyworth Village Hall on Saturday 22nd October. There was a real 'buzz' at this event, particularly during the middle part of the morning when things became very lively, and it cerainly demonstrated the vibrant nature of our U3A. Most of the Interest Groups were present, with either a leader or a group representative to talk with newly joined members, and indeed sharing in conversation with those who were already members of U3A. This illustrates the very positive role of the groups within our U3A. But although the groups remain a focus, the event nowadays is broader still - as an occasion for members to enjoy sharing an informal social event together. There were also some suggestions for yet more interest groups! So - deep appreciation to all those group leaders and/or group representatives for their involvements, and to all who provided the refreshments and helped in many various ways to make this event such an enjoyabble occasion again this year.Robin Wilcockson (Groups Co-ordinator) 17 Oct 2016Short Walk Tuesday 18th October 2016 - we meet at the Village Hall Car Park at 10.30am for cars.
